Linda Rice wins another APHA World Championship

FORT WORTH, Texas—Local Paint Horse novice amateur competitor Linda Rice of Pismo Beach, Calif., captured a World Championship title on July 1 at the 2004 World Championship Paint Horse Show. The show, being held in Fort Worth, Texas, through July 3, is the American Paint Horse Association’s (APHA) premier event.

Rice captured the Championship in Novice Amateur Showmanship at Halter showing Bumble Bee Dirty, a 10-year-old gelding. In the class, exhibitors are judged on their ability to show their animals in hand to a panel of judges. Rice bested a field of 71 for the win.

Rice also received a Championship title on June 28 in the Novice Amateur Hunter Hack class with Bumble Bee Dirty.
